Makar Sankranti
Tejaswi Foundation celebrates Makar Sankranti on 14th January with great enthusiasm, bringing joy to our elderly residents and community members. The festival includes traditional kite flying, special festive meals with tilgul (sesame sweets), cultural programs, and devotional activities. We organize community gatherings where elderly residents share stories and blessings while enjoying the harvest festival’s warmth. This celebration honors tradition, fosters intergenerational connections, and fills hearts with gratitude and happiness.
Haldi Kumkum
This 25 January, we celebrated Haldi Kumkum. This celebration honors married women and brings the community together in joyful sisterhood. But in our old age home all women gather to exchange haldi (turmeric) and kumkum (vermillion), enjoy traditional songs, receive gifts, and participate in cultural activities. This auspicious event celebrates feminine strength, marital bliss, and community bonds. Through traditional rituals, delicious food, and meaningful conversations, we create memorable experiences that strengthen relationships and preserve cultural heritage.
Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with devotion and grandeur at Tejaswi Foundation, invoking Lord Ganesha’s blessings for wisdom and prosperity. Our celebrations include eco-friendly Ganesh idol installation, daily prayers, devotional singing, cultural performances, and community feasts. We engage elderly residents, volunteers, and community members in festivities that honor tradition while promoting environmental consciousness. The celebration culminates with a respectful eco-friendly immersion, teaching sustainable celebration practices.
